Dataram Doubles Memory Capacity of Sun Fire X4100 M2 and X4200 M2 Servers to 64GB

Dataram Corporation (NASDAQ: DRAM), a leading provider of server and workstation memory, today announced the immediate availability of a first-to-market 16GB memory upgrade for Sun Microsystems' Sun Fire X4100 M2 and X4200 M2 servers. Dataram's 16GB upgrade, a capacity not offered by Sun, enables customers to double the maximum server memory capacities from 32GB to 64GB.
Dataram's DRSX4200M2/16GB consists of a matched pair of registered PC2-5300 DDR2-667MHz ECC DIMMs. These 8GB DIMMs support Chipkill, an advanced form of ECC, delivering unmatched data integrity and system availability for critical applications. The Company released 2GB, 4GB and 8GB upgrades earlier this year. All Dataram memory upgrades come with a lifetime warranty and free technical support.
"Enabling our customers to attain the maximum memory capacity and get the most power and performance out of their Sun systems is an ongoing priority at Dataram. In addition to providing high-capacity first-to-market products, Dataram memory options are typically priced up to 50% lower than Sun's memory upgrades, enabling significant savings for our customers," stated Jeff Goldenbaum, Dataram's Senior Product Manager.
The Sun Fire X4100 M2 and X4200 M2 are fast, reliable, and energy-efficient one to four-way servers, powered by one or two dual-core or single-core AMD Opteron 2000 Series processors. Both are compact power-saving systems and can run Solaris, Linux, or Windows operating systems. Memory must be installed in matched DIMM pairs, in up to eight available memory slots. Memory intensive applications will run faster with this powerful 16GB per processor core and 32GB per processor socket system memory capacity.
