Sandisk Equips New Music Player With Yahoo Services
April 10, 2007
In an attempt to steal market share away from Apple’s iPod, Sandisk has revealed that it is to load its new digital audio player with music services from Yahoo.
The Sansa Connect device has a WiFi communication connection, which lets users download songs from Yahoo’s music service without linking to a PC.
Users can access both free and subscription-based Yahoo Music services. They can also view photos stored on the player or on an optional microSD card.
Sandisk is currently the US’s number two seller of digital music players, with a 9% market share. Market leader Apple, meanwhile, has a 74% share.
