Redback Networks’ President Kevin Denuccio to Deliver April 16 Keynote at NAB2007 Telecom Conference
Redback Networks Inc., an Ericsson company that makes video-centric routers for 75 percent of the world’s triple-play networks, today announced that its President Kevin DeNuccio, will deliver the keynote address at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Telecom conference in the Las Vegas Convention Center (N235) on Monday, April 16th at 1:00 p.m. PT.
Joining DeNuccio on stage will be Thomas Dolby, a celebrated music performer and noted technologist, best known to the public for albums such as the “Golden Age of Wireless,” which featured the smash hit, “She Blinded Me with Science.” As a technologist, Dolby helped found a successful software company for mobile phones, called Beatnik. Beatnik makes a very small software synthesizer that generates the ring-tones and mixes audio in more than 700 million wireless devices made by Sony-Ericsson, Samsung, Nokia, among others.
DeNuccio, whose company helps 15 of the top 20 carriers worldwide deliver broadband, phone and TV services for more than 50 million subscribers — will discuss the two biggest consumer trends driving broadband network upgrades today: Video and ‘Megabit Mobility.’ DeNuccio and Dolby will share the stage talking about the impact that triple-play services will have on the future of next-generation mobile networks. DeNuccio will also lay out the following market predictions:
In 10 years, more than 2 billion people will be upgraded to video-centric wireless and wire-line broadband networks from 250 million people today.
In five years, ‘megabit mobility’ will drive a new wave of broadband services with much faster speeds for HD video and cable TV-like services between 14 mbps to 144 mbps.
The next round of network upgrades may be up to 10X larger than the original Internet build-out because of new consumer demands for broadband video + mobility services.
