Apr. 16–CORAL SPRINGS — Police arrested a doctor they said took his intern out for drinks and appetizers, then tried to have sex with her in the medical office’s parking lot last week.
Dr. Roger A. Browne, 51, posted bail and was released from jail Saturday after spending one night in jail on the attempted sexual battery charge, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Browne, said Coral Springs police spokesman Capt. Jeff Maslan, took the female intern out for drinks and appetizers Tuesday night after closing down Americare Health Center, 6263 West Sample Road. At about 11 p.m., they went back to the office in Browne’s vehicle.
That’s when the doctor tried to have sex with the intern, whose age and other identifying information Maslan did not release. He said the masturbated while on top of her.
“The victim made several attempts to stop the doctor, [but] to no avail,” Maslan said.
She left the vehicle and eventually told police what happened.
Detectives arrested Browne, of Pembroke Pines, on Friday. He posted bail Saturday. The bond amount was $5,000, according to county court records.
