Diebold also has chosen to deploy four ftServer 3300 systems in its own data center to support its Microsoft(R) Windows(R)-based transaction processing solution. This not only demonstrates Diebold's confidence in the capabilities of the Stratus servers, but also proves the company's commitment to customers to deliver the most reliable transaction processing solutions.
Diebold's integrated technology solutions include self-service delivery systems, security solutions and services. With this agreement, its server software products now include the continuous processing capabilities of the ftServer line. Some of the institutions taking advantage of Diebold's new offering include: State (Michigan) Employees Credit Union, Travis Credit Union and AmeriCU Credit Union.
"Our server software solutions empower our customers to service their customers whenever and wherever they choose," said John H. Tyler, vice president of Software and Services. "In an industry where there is no margin for error, ftServer technology can make a truly valuable contribution to the solutions we provide. Stratus fault-tolerant server performance is unsurpassed for reliability and uptime."
The Stratus ftServer family is the computer industry's first line of 1-to 4-way SMP fault-tolerant Intel(R) processor-based servers for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Advanced Server computing environments. The line soon will support Windows Server 2003, which contains features and functionality specific to fault-tolerant computing. ftServer systems are simple to deploy, operate and maintain, and provide the highest level of reliability for applications where business continuity and continuous processing are critical. The product family includes a range of models, configurations and price points to meet departmental-to-data-center application requirements.
"The Diebold tagline, 'We won't rest,' says everything you need to know about the company regardless of your constituency - customer, investor or business partner," said Philip Izzo, Stratus director of business development, Financial Services. "At every level, Diebold shares Stratus' commitment to keep its customers' operations up and running, 24/7. That's just the nature of business today, but it's an extremely difficult thing to do. We're pleased to be partnering with a company that understands how it's done."
