Unilever has appointed Bartle Bogle Hegarty to handle the European digital creative account for its men’s deodorant brand Axe. The win was BBH’s first solo digital pitch.

Lingerie brand Playtex has selected Together to redesign its site, following a three-way pitch. The agency has been charged with strengthening Playtex’s online presence, redeveloping its web site and producing new online content. The aim is to make it easier for customers to browse the Playtex range and purchase items online through thirdparty retailers.

Web Gravity announced that it has won the remit to provide car- hire group Avis Europe with pan-European natural search-engine optimisation. The multi-lingual campaign, spanning 17 regions, will be provided exclusively by Web Gravity, the search division of online marketing group Fuel.

DIY and building supplies store Wickes has appointed Equator to boost sales through its web site. The agency will be responsible for developing and managing all of the brand’s search, affiliate marketing, online media and email marketing for the web site, which launched m July 2006.

Web analytics specialist Omniture has been chosen by Channel 4 to help measure the impact of the broadcaster’s increased investment in digital media, particularly web 2.0 technology. Omniture will help C4 to understand how people use the web site; how new developments and sub-sites are received by users: and which parts of the web site are driving revenue most effectively.

Online voucher service 3V has appointed Carat as the lead agency for its 8 million European media planning and buying account across Germany, UK and Ireland, Spain, France and the Netherlands.

Streetcar, the UK’s largest pay-as you-go car club, has appointed creative agency lsobel and digital agency Anorak Digital to handle the promotion of its services. The company, which currently provides self service cars for rent by the hour, day or month, aims to boost its membership by a further 26.000 through marketing activity.
