Collaboration Enables Delivery of Advanced Network Services With Complete Solution Including Glue-less Product Interfaces, Hardware and Software Development Kits and Reference Designs
IDT(TM) (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.) (Nasdaq:IDTI), a leading communications IC company and the leading provider of network search engines (NSEs), today announced it has partnered with Greenfield Networks, a leader in high-performance Ethernet switching silicon solutions, to provide packet-processing and traffic-management solutions for a broad range of applications in the enterprise and metro markets, including enterprise edge chassis systems, and enterprise aggregation and metro edge fixed-configuration switches.
The Greenfield G525 packet engine, part of the Packetry family of Ethernet switching solutions, interfaces glue-lessly to the IDT family of NSEs with low-voltage transistor-to-transistor logic (LVTTL) interfaces to provide scalable media access control (MAC), Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) and IPv6 routing tables, and classification/filtering tables. In addition, the Greenfield GH3032 reference system incorporates either the IDT 75P52100 or 75K62100 NSE, enabling a seamless upgrade path between the 128Kx36 and 256Kx36 configurations. Additionally, support for the IDT NSE family has been fully integrated in the existing Packetry software solution. Together, these tools save customers significant engineering resources and enable overall savings in development and design time.
"When looking for an NSE partner whose technology would complement our Packetry family of Ethernet switching solutions, we considered many factors, including completeness of solution, stability, quality and market leadership," said Gary Szilagyi, vice president of sales for Greenfield Networks. "IDT met or exceeded our expectations in every area, and we are pleased to work with them to enhance our existing family and deliver best-in-class switching solutions that ease design time and lower system cost for our customers."
"We have been working with Greenfield Networks for two years to enable high-performance classification support for their Packetry family of devices through the seamless integration of our NSE technology," said Scott Sarnikowski, vice president and general manager of the IDT IP co-processor division. "The resulting solution enables our mutual customers to develop highly scalable and economical packet-processing solutions for the enterprise and metro markets."
The Greenfield GH3032 reference design with its accompanying software suite is currently shipping and will be displayed in IDT booth #411 at the Network Systems Design Conference, October 19-21 in San Jose, Calif. IDT offers a full suite of hardware and software development tools, as well as responsive technical support and systems expertise.
The Greenfield G525 packet engine glue-lessly interfaces to the IDT 75P42100, 75P52100, 75K62100 and 75K72100 NSEs with LVTTL interfaces. The IDT devices are available in 64Kx36 through 512Kx36 configurations and achieve performance levels up to 250 million searches per second (MSPS).
