Encentuate Launches First Secure and Convenient Enterprise Access Security Solution

FOSTER CITY, Calif., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Encentuate, Inc. today announced Encentuate TCI, the first enterprise access security solution that combines sign-on/sign-off automation, authentication management, and centralized access tracking. Encentuate TCI is the first identity-based solution to provide the best of both worlds: the convenience of an intelligent, user-centric client with the accountability and control that is available with a centralized server.
"Until now, companies have had to make impossible choices," said Peng T. Ong, Encentuate founder and CEO. "They could opt for a client-based point solution that makes life easy for users but does not provide layered security upgrade possibilities. Or they could choose to integrate multiple server-based solutions -- which is an expensive proposition. Encentuate is the first solution that combines convenience for users with central administration, all in a fast-to-deploy package."
Encentuate TCI's hybrid architecture provides three key benefits that have never been available in a single access security solution: end-user ease-of- use through automated sign-on/sign-off, fast rollouts in weeks, not years, and, the ability to incrementally improve security by user and by application. Encentuate TCI provides a complete access security solution without Big Bang expenditures.
"We've rolled out Encentuate TCI to the more than 750 users in our organization," said Moses Cesario, vice president of information systems for Affymetrix, a company that develops biotechnology research tools. "Encentuate was the ideal solution -- giving our users the convenience of sign-on automation, providing stronger security for the widespread protection of our intellectual property, and allowing us to meet our Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Deployment was especially easy because we could keep our back- end infrastructure intact."
The Encentuate AccessAgent integrates with virtually any access system and authentication factors, including USB keys, proximity cards, and biometric solutions -- providing users with an easy, yet secure means for logging onto systems. In some cases, the very same door card that gives users access to buildings can also provide access to applications and data.
At the same time, the Encentuate IMS Server provides all the advantages of centralized administration, including the crucial ability to centrally revocate all access of employees immediately after they have left the company, not months later. Encentuate's hybrid architecture also closely tracks user activity as it occurs on each client, while gathering it on the central server for compliance reporting.
The IMS Server -- designed especially for enforcing enterprise security -- makes it easy for companies to deploy and upgrade without the usual high costs. Organizations can initially use password protection, then upgrade to stronger passwords, two-factor authentication, and digital certificates, without having to deploy point solutions. The server provides central control, enabling administrators to independently configure and update users, applications and security levels without having to modify the existing IT infrastructure. The solution also works with other identity management products such as provisioning or directory management products to provide comprehensive lifecycle management.
On the user side, Encentuate AccessAgent not only provides sign-on and sign-off automation, but also allows transparent security upgrades without user involvement.
Security industry guru Ira Winkler said that Encentuate is a low cost, low risk access security solution that will greatly assist companies in rapidly implementing identity-based security programs. "Encentuate TCI enables robust access capabilities and can greatly assist organizations that are pressed to meet regulatory requirements within the pending deadlines."
Encentuate TCI is in various stages of deployment at 20 customer sites, including healthcare facilities, a biotech firm, government offices, and financial services companies.
