MONTREAL (CP) - A Quebec man accused of killing a police officer has been freed on bail, but must respect strict conditions.
Basil Parasiris was told by a Quebec court judge today that while on bail he must obey a curfew and live with his parents. Parasiris's sister and cousin also must each take out a $100,000 bond. Parasiris has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Laval, Que., police officer on March 2.
He claims he thought he was being robbed when police barged into his home to execute a search warrant.
Parasiris was described as a good family man during testimony earlier today.
