Teen Charged in Sex With 11-Year-Old Girl

A 14-year-old Chicago-area boy has been charged with criminal sexual abuse for allegedly having an ongoing relationship with an 11-year-old girl, police said.

The teenager, from Palos Hills, Ill., has been charged as a juvenile and will not be identified because of his age, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday.

The girl’s mother called police after her daughter refused to stop seeing the boy, Palos Hills Deputy Police Chief Steve Good said. The boy’s mother was aware of the relationship and had been buying her son condoms, Good said.

The girl’s mother became aware of the relationship on April 12 when she learned that the boy had doused her son, also 14, with cologne and set him on fire to make a video for the Web site MySpace.Com, Good said. In questioning her son, who suffered second-degree burns, the girl’s mother learned that her daughter was having sex with the boy now charged, Good said.
