KickApps Corporation today announced a partnership with Cycling.tv to power a full range of social media functionality on the company's popular community site, The Innertube. Through the agreement, Cycling.tv will leverage the KickApps platform to integrate user-generated content and social networking features throughout its Web offerings.
"Cycling is truly a global sport, but social media technologies like KickApps are designed to ignite enthusiast communities down to the local level," said Alex Blum, CEO of KickApps. "In this sense, progressive Internet Protocol TV providers like Cycling.tv have an enormous opportunity to rapidly grow audience virally online, and we are excited to provide them with this critical social component."
Through The Innertube, global cycling fans can rate and share video, audio, and photos of their favorite races, blog about ongoing events, and network with friends via profiles and private messages. Additionally, The Innertube integrates seamlessly with Cycling.tv's main website--allowing community-members to virally syndicate content from both sites across the Web.
"The KickApps platform allowed us to create a fully-functioning, video-centric community site in only a few days," said Simon Brydon, CEO of Cycling.tv. "Plus, KickApps' platform is built to be reliable and scalable, so we can continue to utilize it as our user base and needs grow."
