Crescendo Networks Acknowledged As Visionary in Gartner 2007 Magic Quadrant Report for Application Delivery Products
Posted on: Tuesday, 8 May 2007, 09:00 CDT
Crescendo Networks, the leader in high performance application acceleration and optimization, today announced that it has been named to the Visionaries Quadrant in the 2007 Gartner Application Delivery Products Magic Quadrant Report. According to Gartner, "We have added Crescendo, as it has rapidly emerged from startup status in 2005 to becoming a strong player in today's market. Crescendo combines specialized hardware with innovative auto-optimization software to deliver a rich feature set, high performance and ease of installation." Criterion for inclusion and ranking within the Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Products focuses on a vendor's ability to meet and resolve important application challenges within the enterprise.
Gartner describes Application Delivery Controllers (ADC) as devices designed to "optimize the delivery of applications across the network." The report defines two product categories, ADCs and Advanced Platform ADCs. AP-ADCs represent a more advanced category of products that operate on a per-transaction basis, delivering what Gartner refers to as "application fluency." Crescendo's Maestro product, categorized as an AP-ADC, is the only application delivery solution capable of delivering true multi-gigabit, multi-tiered acceleration with all AP-ADC features enabled concurrently.
Operationally, application delivery solutions offer a critical set of functions designed to optimize corporate applications. Gartner ranked Crescendo high on both Magic Quadrant axes which include The Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. Analysts predict the application delivery market (which includes eCommerce, eRetail, eMedia and enterprise customers) will exceed $1 billion in user spending in 2007.
"Our strong placement in the 2007 Gartner Magic Quadrant demonstrates our worldwide success in both execution and completeness of vision," said Adoram Ga'ash, Chairman and CEO of Crescendo Networks. "It also shows our commitment to addressing the long term content delivery, acceleration and optimization needs of our global customer base," concluded Ga'ash.
