DirecTV Signs Deal With High Point, N.C.-Based North State Communications

Oct. 11--North State Communications and DirecTV Inc. announced Friday the signing of a marketing agreement to provide DirecTV digital satellite television services beginning in early November.
Consumers will be able to get DirecTV entertainment services through North State.
"Through our partnership with DirecTV, we will be offering television services with crystal clear pictures and high quality sound by means of an all-digital system," said Royster Tucker, president of North State.
Under the terms of the agreement, North State will be responsible for sales, marketing and scheduling installation of DirecTV services. DirecTV will be responsible for installation, billing and ongoing service for customers who subscribe through North State.
"We like the fact that DirecTV is the largest provider of satellite television in the nation and is the fastest-growing provider of television service among major providers of both satellite and cable television," Tucker said.
North State Communications is a diversified, regional communications company based in High Point. As the nation's 17th largest provider of local communications services, the company offers a wide range of communications services to business and residential customers in the Piedmont.
The company provides residential and business communications including local services, Internet services, long distance services and data and wireless services.
