Posted on: Thursday, 10 May 2007, 15:00 CDT
Anue Systems, the leader in Network Emulation, has announced general availability of Version 2.5 of its GEM Network Emulator. The new features in GEM v2.5 provide more powerful capabilities for Traffic Shaping and Traffic Policing, enhanced user interface and graphics, and options for Dynamic Search Filtering (DSF) and IPTV testing.
"Companies are now deploying multiple applications on the WAN," said Kevin Przybocki, COO at Anue Systems. "These mission-critical network applications can experience severe quality and performance impairments -- particularly when several applications are competing for bandwidth. Lab testing and tuning with our GEM and XGEM Network Emulators enables Enterprise IT organizations to be confident their network applications will perform well on the production network."
GEM v2.5 standard features include:
-- Traffic Shaping and Policing in accordance with Metro Ethernet Forum standards -- Dashboard display of multi-profile configurations and impairments -- Logging of blade and profile-level statistics -- Real-time graphing of network impairment results -- Support for IPV6 filtering and classification -- Password Security
Software options are also available for
-- Dynamic Search Filtering (DSF): Enables packet drop by user-specified pattern, regardless of offset. -- IPTV: Provides the ability to drop MPEG H.262 and H.264 type I, P and/or B frames.
Anue Systems Network Emulators are based on a patent-pending hardware platform which delivers higher performance and precision than software-based network simulators. Anue Systems Network Emulators are used in network applications testing labs to introduce network delays, errors and other network impairments -- at full line rates up to 11.3 Gbps. Supported protocols include IP, Ethernet, SONET/SDH, OTN, CPRI and Fibre Channel.
