TV Worldwide, a global Internet TV Network and the University of Findlay's School of Environmental and Emergency Management (SEEM), announced free DVD and on-line Internet TV distribution of the presentation "School Safety and Security: An All-Hazards Approach" to assist learning institutions and their employees in dealing with issues relating to the prevention of violent incidents after the recent tragic shooting at Virginia Tech. The announcement was made during a video press conference as part of the official webcast of the GovSec, U.S. Law and Ready! 2007 Conference and Exposition, on TV Worldwide's Homeland Defense TV Channel (www.homelanddefenseTV.com). The University of Findlay and TV Worldwide also announced a new 3-part video series on Campus/School Security to be distributed via DVD and on-line at Homeland Defense TV in July.
Although "School Safety and Security: An All-Hazards Approach" was previously distributed for sale, the University of Findlay and TV Worldwide recognized the urgency of disseminating this important information at no cost to assist schools everywhere in developing an effective strategy for preparation, prevention and response. At GovSec, U.S. Law and Ready!, 500 Free DVDs were distributed at the TV Worldwide webcast booth where University of Findlay experts were on hand to answer questions. Free on-line access to the video will be made available by May 14, 2007 on Homeland Defense TV.
"We're excited to be able to offer this important content for free to colleges, school systems, service providers and other interested parties," said Randy Van Dyne, Executive Director of the University of Findlay's School of Environmental and Emergency Management (SEEM). "TV Worldwide's Homeland Defense Internet TV channel is integral to our dissemination strategy because the channel is well regarded for attracting the professionals in our niche target audience."
"We're pleased to again work with the University of Findlay, a proven leader in the safety and security training arena to provide this important information to the public," commented Dave Gardy, Chairman and CEO of TV Worldwide. "With the special background and perspective in this area that the school offers as an academic institution itself, I know the new curriculum in the upcoming three-part series on Campus and School security will also be in high demand."
The new three-part video series on Campus/School Security planned for summer 2007 distribution will include the following topics:
1. Implementing a Campus/School Violence Prevention Program 2. Conducting Comprehensive Campus Wide/School System Wide Safety and Security Assessments 3. Facilitating School Safety and Security Tabletop Exercises
Participants should have the free Windows Media Player installed prior to viewing video press conference from the GOVSEC webcast and the presentation "School Safety and Security: An All-Hazards Approach" beginning May 14 on Homeland Defense TV (www.homelanddefensetv.com).
