KPN Expands Ethernet Services With Ceragon’s Wireless Gigabit Ethernet Solution
TEL AVIV, Israel, May 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Ceragon Networks Ltd. , http://www.ceragon.com/ , a leading provider of high-capacity wireless backhaul solutions, today announced that KPN, the leading telecommunications provider in the Netherlands, is expanding its Ethernet network solutions with Ceragon’s native Gigabit Ethernet solution to offer its customers a wider range of services and seamless coverage. The recent expansion follows the successful implementation of Ceragon’s FibeAir IP-MAX, a native IP solution that was delivered to KPN in 2006.
“There is a huge and fast-growing demand for our Ethernet services throughout The Netherlands and Europe, and we are increasing our capacity to meet this demand,” said John van Vianen senior vice president Network Services at KPN. “Since its first implementation, Ceragon’s native Ethernet solution has exceeded our expectations and enables us to quickly and easily provide our customers with next generation business communication services. Due to the unique features of the solution, including the highest data rates in the market, our customers benefit from the highest availability and best performance combined with faster implementation.”
“The ongoing expansion of KPN’s all-IP network validates our IP leadership position” said Ira Palti, President and CEO, Ceragon Networks Ltd. “We are excited about building on our long-term relationship with KPN, helping them expand their infrastructure capabilities. Given the market transition to IP networks coupled with our superior IP capabilities, we expect strong demand for our Ethernet products worldwide.”
The new expansion addresses the rapidly growing demand for KPN’s business and consumer services, including a broad range of data services, telephone, Internet, and video applications. Ceragon’s IP solution will be implemented as an extension to the fiber network, to ensure fast and secure data transmissions for KPN’s next generation Ethernet and IP networks.
Ceragon’s FibeAir IP-MAX is the industry’s only native Gigabit Ethernet wireless platform to offer high capacities of 50 to 800 Mbps on a single band combined with scalable and dynamic bandwidth allocation of TDM interfaces. With fiber-like quality, FibeAir IP-MAX solutions have the substantial advantage of quick, easy and cost effective deployment.
