QUINCY – Beth Prindle, the curator of Boston’s John Adams Library Project, will talk about the program next Thursday night at the Quincy Historical Society.

In an illustrated presentation, Prindle will discuss the history of Adams’ personal book collection and how the character and thought of the nation’s second president is reflected in its 3,500 volumes.

The historical society’s annual meeting will be at 7:30 at the Adams Academy, 8 Adams St. The talk is free and open to the public.

The Adams library has been the property of the Boston Public Library since 1893, when the family transferred it there from the Thomas Crane Public Library in Quincy.

Prindle is manager of a project to repair and restore the aging books.

For information, call the historical society at 617-773-1144 or visit the society’s Web site at quincyhistory.org.
