PC World Reveals Winners of the ”100 Best Products of 2007” Awards
PC World, the most widely-read computer or business magazine among total purchase influencers, today announced the winners of its annual “100 Best Products of 2007″ Awards. The “100 Best Products of 2007″ features the finest products and services of the past 12 months, from notebooks and security software to MP3 players and smartphones. The selections were based on exemplary design, features, performance, and innovation. The honorees were chosen after editors reviewed hundreds of products, including those that have appeared in the magazine over the last year. The article is available now on PCWorld.com at http://find.pcworld.com/57409 and will be on newsstands June 12.
The “100 Best Products of 2007″ winners list contains a wide range of products and services for work, home, and everywhere in between. The editors’ picks reflect the ever-changing world of technology, with revolutionary products in various categories including media streaming devices, virtualization software, navigation systems, and ultra-portable convertible notebooks. Topping the list at number one is Google Apps Premier Edition, a Web application from Google. PC World editors noted, “Google is much more than just a search engine, and with its invaluable Google Apps suite, the company is well on its way to challenging Microsoft for productivity-suite supremacy.” Many companies have multiple winners on the list; Apple leads the pack with six winning products, followed by Google with five.
PC World also asked its online community to be a part of the story by selecting their picks for the “100 Best Products of 2007.” The nine products designated as “Reader Favorites” among the top 100 Products include: Nintendo Wii, Parallels Desktop, Apple TV, Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite, Sling Media Slingbox Pro, Mozilla Firefox 2, Apple iPod nano, Apple MacBook Pro, and Check Point ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite. In addition, the “Most-Anticipated Products” are items that missed the cutoff date for the “100 Best Products,” but will be coming out soon, such as the Apple iPhone, (June 2007), AMD Phenom (summer 2007), Intel Penryn (Q1 2008), Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard (October 2007), and Rock Band (Q4 2007).
Special online-only features for “100 Best Products of 2007″ are available now at PCWorld.com, including: the Top 20 Products of the Year slideshow at http://find.pcworld.com/57393, Readers’ Picks for the Best Products of the Year slideshow at http://find.pcworld.com/57394, the Most-Anticipated Products of the Year slideshow at http://find.pcworld.com/57395, and a Best Products of 2007 video at http://find.pcworld.com/57392 in which PC World editors review and discuss the top 5 products.
