Apparent Networks' AppCritical Supports Boeing's Laboratory Network

Posted on: Wednesday, 23 May 2007, 09:00 CDT

INTEROP - Apparent Networks, Inc., an industry-leading provider of expert systems for network diagnostics and analytics, today announced that Boeing has selected Apparent Networks' AppCritical software to conduct network assessments for the Boeing Laboratory Network (LabNet).

Boeing LabNet, an advanced high-speed electronic network that connects Boeing laboratories and real-time flight simulation centers throughout the United States, requires problem-free networks without jitter, latency and delay. As the backbone of Boeing's virtual laboratory complex, LabNet requires a network assessment solution that is not merely reactive to network problems. Apparent Networks' AppCritical allows LabNet to proactively conduct real-time remote network assessments and quickly isolate where the problem is occurring, distinguishing between application and network issues.

"In a corporate environment where down-time is simply not an option, Boeing chose AppCritical to provide real-time visibility into its networks and ensure always-on network applications," said Irfhan Rajani, President and CEO, Apparent Networks. "We're pleased that our AppCritical solution is helping Boeing maintain its role as a leader in the aerospace technology industry."

"In our time-sensitive flight simulations, even seconds lost due to network issues can cause inaccuracies and significantly hinder the results of our tests," said Todd Johnstone, engineering manager for Boeing LabNet. "We are relying on AppCritical to keep our operations running smoothly. AppCritical allows us to monitor our networks proactively and be aware of any problems. Through its actionable information, it enables us to respond to performance problems, quickly and easily, before they affect our laboratories and flight simulations. AppCritical's ability to quickly determine if a problem is within the application or the network, saves time and resources, increases our network performance and improves efficiency and our users' quality of experience."
