Posted on: Thursday, 24 May 2007, 12:00 CDT

LONG BEACH, Calif., May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- A year ago, Bob and Rebecca Boyle introduced Dippin' Dots to Downtown Long Beach. Now, they're expanding their business with a new location in Northeast Long Beach.

The Boyles will celebrate the opening of their new store, located in Parkview Village, on Saturday, June 2. The Street-Fair style event will have game booths, elephant rides, strolling magicians and arts and crafts booths. Dippin' Dots will also offer buy one get one free discounts to all customers.

Since opening their store in Downtown Long Beach last year, the Boyles have serviced several celebrity events and catered television and movie sets including the set of the CBS series Numb3rs and the upcoming horror film Midnight Meat Train.

The Park Village location, on the other hand, will accommodate a slightly different crowd.

"Most of the customers in our Downtown store are office workers or twentysomethings who are on their way to the movies or one of the many clubs in the area," Rebecca said. "Many of our customers expressed their wish that we were closer to their homes rather than in the Downtown area where our current store is. Our new store is in the perfect location for young families with small children."

With the opening of the Parkview Village store, the Boyles now service the Long Beach, Lakewood and Cerritos areas. The new location offers more than two-dozen flavors of Dippin' Dots Ice Cream, Ice, Sherbet and Yogurt products. In addition, the store serves Dot Cakes, Dot Shakes, Floats and Solar Freeze(R) smoothies.

Dippin' Dots(R) are tiny, cryogenically frozen beads of ice cream, yogurt, sherbet and flavored ice. Invented in 1988 by microbiologist and entrepreneur Curt Jones, Dippin' Dots(R) offers more than two-dozen different flavors, plus seasonal flavors. The company's administrative and production headquarters are located in Paducah, Kentucky. Dippin' Dots(R) are sold in 290 retail locations and thousands of entertainment venues and special events nationwide. The company's Global division oversees licensees in nine countries.
