VIENNA, Va., May 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — AT&T Government Solutions, a business unit of AT&T Inc. , brought together federal agency representatives for a detailed look at AT&T’s broad portfolio of products, services and capabilities for Networx Universal, a multibillion telecommunications network and services contract awarded by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). AT&T hosted the Networx Universal Program Launch meeting today at its Oakton, Va., operations.

During the seminar, AT&T unveiled its Transition Management Center, where AT&T PMP-certified program managers and staff showcased tools, resources, inventory management and processes that will be used for agencies that will partner with AT&T for their transitions. The seminar enabled federal government representatives to learn more about AT&T’s powerful combination of dedicated transition operations, proven capabilities and in-depth experience transitioning thousands of complex networks for large enterprises.

AT&T also detailed its products and services for Mobility, Network Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations, Security, Order Processing and Billing, Managed Services and Services Management, including its award- winning, Web-based customer portal, BuisnessDirect(R).

“AT&T is dedicated to helping federal agencies service their customer needs today while charting a course for tomorrow’s technologies,” said Don Herring, senior vice president, AT&T Government Solutions. “Since our goal is to be the trusted, experienced partner for managing each agency through its transition, we take a tailored, customer-focused approach to each agency’s transition time frame. With our proven track record of past performance, combined with innovation from AT&T Labs and our Networx partners, we’ll help agencies maximize the opportunities while minimizing the risks of transition.”

“Today, security is a major challenge facing every federal agency,” said Ed Amoroso, chief information security officer of AT&T. “Networx provides agencies with a suite of capabilities to accommodate the heightened importance of security in the federal government. AT&T’s Defense-In-Depth strategy can address security from the core of the network to the application.”

Networx is an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a potential value of $20 billion over the next 10 years that consists of two contract vehicles: Networx Universal and Networx Enterprise. Through its Networx Universal award, AT&T can provide a full range of network and communications services to federal government agencies. AT&T also bid on Networx Enterprise, which is expected to be awarded later this month. Networx will replace the expiring GSA FTS2001 and FTS2001 Crossover contract vehicles.

Recently, AT&T received Notice to Proceed (NTP) from the GSA on its Networx Universal contract and is proceeding with verification testing of systems to support the mandatory and optional Networx services under the Networx Universal award. AT&T has invested millions in enhancing its advanced federal government-specific OSS infrastructure and processes for Networx.

AT&T Government Solutions has a 4,000 strong team of professionals, 85 percent of whom have government-sponsored accesses and clearances and 75 percent of whom are based in the D.C. area, that is dedicated to the federal government. Today, AT&T provides network, IT and software engineering services to hundreds of agencies, including the Department of Defense, the Department of Justice and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
