The first fundraiser for Maggie Worthen is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, a Contra Dance at the Kingston Congregational Church, 2610 Kingstown Rd., across from the entrance to the University of Rhode Island.

Caller will be Linda Leslie and the band will be White Squall, with guest fiddler Amy Larkin. Admission will be $10. For information, check www.magswheels.org

The second fundraiser is Magstock, an afternoon of music at Chariho Middle School, 455 Switch Rd., Wood River Junction, on June 23 from 2 to 8 p.m. Admission will be $10.

The afternoon of rock and roll will feature the bands 5th Element, The Something Conspiracy, City Confessions, Seven Su ns (previously known as Turning Point), The North Brothers and It was the Best of Times.

Maggie’s longtime schoolmate Preston Lawhorne, 23, of Hopkinton, an organizer, has had offers from numerous bands wishing to take part in the event, he said, and he has had to even turn some away.

Donations to either of these events can be sent to The Mags Wheels Fund, 51 Hammond St., Providence, 02909.

The Web site for MagsWheels is at www.magswheels.org.
