SAN FRANCISCO, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Facebook f8 Event -- Fliptrack, a leader in user-generated musical slideshows and videos, today announced a synching slide show application built on Facebook Platform. The Fliptrack application allows Facebook users worldwide to create music videos and slideshows by combining photos, text and effects with the largest mashup music library available.

"Facebook Platform creates an ecosystem for developers to build applications that deeply integrate into Facebook and use its social graph," said Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook. "By enabling developers to make applications within Facebook, we're working together to create a better utility for millions of people."

With more than 24 million active users, Facebook is the sixth-most trafficked website in the United States. The company's newly launched Facebook Platform is a development platform that enables companies and engineers to integrate with Facebook in order to gain access to millions of users. More than 50 percent of Facebook users return to the site each day, providing unparalleled distribution potential for applications and the opportunity to build a business that is highly relevant to people's lives.

The Fliptrack application for Facebook provides an easy, user-friendly interface that allows Facebook users to create and share synchronized musical slideshows. Users can combine their photos with popular music selections from Fliptrack's catalog, which consists of over 240,000 thousand songs cleared for legal use in user generated slideshows and videos. Fliptrack music partners include EMI music publishing, APM (a joint venture of EMI Music publishing and BMG), Spirit Music Group, EMI-Blue Note, Tommyboy Records, V2 Records, Nettwerk Records, Ministry of Sound, Razor and Tie and dozens of additional artists, labels, distributors and marketers.

Additionally, Fliptrack is holding two special contests over the Memorial Day weekend, including a "make the best music video" contest featuring the hit single "Hey There Delilah" from the Plain White Tees. The winner will receive a video iPod and his or her video will be highlighted on The Plain White Tees' website and Fliptrack.com. Fliptrack will also be featuring the final week of the "make a video" contest for the band A Shoreline Dream. The finalists will receive a gift pack from A Shoreline Dream and the winner will be showcased on their website.

"These developments validate the fact that synching musical slideshows and videos are the next big thing in the world of user-generated content," said Stewart Putney, CEO of Fliptrack. "With the launch of an application for Facebook and our continued growth in music industry partnerships and promotions, we are not only providing more users with added functionality and access to popular music, we're also, expanding distribution of Fliptrack technology while creating new opportunities for our music partners."
