ITC^DeltaCom Selects Arbor Networks' Peakflow Platform for Traffic Planning and to Protect Against Internet Attacks

Arbor Networks, a leader in network integrity systems, today announced that ITC^DeltaCom, Inc. (NASDAQ/NM: ITCD), a leading provider of integrated communications services to customers in the southeastern United States, has selected Arbor's Peakflow(R) SP platform for network planning and to protect its network from distributed denial of service (DDoS) and other Internet attacks, further improving service to its business customers.
"At ITC^DeltaCom, we constantly review the security and reliability of our network to ensure our customers receive the highest levels of service and care," said Steve Moses, ITC^DeltaCom senior vice president of network services. "In the past year, telecommunications and Internet service providers have been challenged with protecting networks against DDoS attacks and other security threats. We believe Arbor's Peakflow SP provides the security needed to protect our network infrastructure and improve the service we offer our customers."
ITC^DeltaCom has selected both Peakflow SP Traffic and Routing and Peakflow SP Infrastructure Security. The Peakflow SP solution proactively detects and traces network-wide anomalies such as DDoS attacks and worms, providing operators with the information they need to quickly resolve threats before they affect network service. In addition, ITC^DeltaCom is using Peakflow's detailed traffic analysis capabilities to evaluate peering relationships; ensure that routing configurations meet customer and partner requirements; and to alleviate network congestion.
"ITC^DeltaCom needed a scalable, non-intrusive security solution to defend its network and protect its customers from increasing Internet attacks," said Tom Schuster, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Arbor Networks. "The Peakflow SP platform protects ITC^DeltaCom's infrastructure and enhances the company's traffic and routing capabilities to reduce service level agreement credits and operation expenses, thus improving network availability and customer satisfaction."
Peakflow SP offers significant return on investment in areas critical to a service provider's profitability: troubleshooting and support, transit costs, service level agreements, network engineering and peering analysis, help desk calls during attacks, and report generation.
