Corrigent Systems (Nasdaq:ORCT), a leading provider of Packet ADM (Add Drop Multiplexer) for next-generation transport networks, today announced the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary corporation in Japan to provide marketing and support services for partners and service provider customers. Corrigent Systems' Packet ADM is deployed for advanced communications networks in Japan and the creation of this subsidiary corporation aligns with the resource growth in our Tokyo office. The CM-100 is used as the metro transport backbone network for consumer and corporate applications including data, voice and video services.
Headquartered in Minato-Ku, Tokyo, Corrigent Japan will focus on providing leading edge service, support and products for its customers leveraging our sales and lab facilities. Ehud Rokach, CEO of Corrigent Systems will also serve as President of Corrigent Japan.
"Japanese corporations and consumers understand that broadband applications are critical to increasing Japan's competitive advantage. We are committed to our customers and the Japanese market because they understand the benefits of having the most modern telecommunications infrastructure and are building the most advanced network in the world. We are proud to participate in building the most advanced metro transport networks deployed throughout Japan," Mr. Rokach said.
Corrigent Japan has two major systems integrator partners that support the ongoing metro networks that are being built. Service providers are looking to suppliers that help them migrate from existing networks to the converged voice, video and data network of the future.
"Corrigent is a strong and reliable partner committed to listening to our customers' needs. We place very high value on our quality and reliability. We have been working here for more than 3 years and believe our incorporation will increase our ability to serve our customers," said Akio Ogiso, Vice President Corrigent Japan.
Japan has high density fiber connectivity to multi tenant buildings and many broadband users that can be better served with a packet-based metro transport network based on Corrigent's Packet ADM. These networks require the resiliency, statistical gain, multicasting capabilities and ability to support TDM traffic provided by the CM-100.
About Corrigent
Corrigent leads a new class of metro-optical transport products that is revolutionary in its economics. Corrigent's CM-100 is a packet-ADM that fuses together SONET/SDH technologies with packet technologies such as RPR, Ethernet and MPLS, to evolve today's SONET/SDH-based transport infrastructure to the next generation packet-based transport network, in both a standards-based and interoperable manner. This breakthrough architecture solves the metro dilemma for service providers worldwide by allowing them to bridge their existing SONET services with next-generation data, voice and video services.
