NetEffect Chief Architect to Speak at Network Systems Design Conference
Posted on: Monday, 18 October 2004, 06:00 CDT
NetEffect Inc., a leader in developing high-performance networking silicon, today announced that chief architect Brian Hausauer is presenting at this week's Network Systems Design Conference in San Jose, Oct. 19 - 21.
Hausauer's presentation, "Accelerating iWARP," will focus on NetEffect's implementation of iWARP, highlighting for the first time the architecture of NetEffect's initial product family.
This presentation will focus on the architecture of the company's iWARP solution and will discuss features that are required for data-center applications such as networking, clustering, and storage.
Hausauer, chief architect at NetEffect, has over 15 years experience designing servers and server I/O subsystems at Compaq, Banderacom, and NetEffect. At Compaq, Hausauer was responsible for multiprocessor server architecture and chipset design. At Banderacom, he brought critical understanding of server architecture into Banderacom's InfiniBand design team. Hausauer is currently working on the next-generation 10Gb Ethernet iWARP adapter. He holds 15 patents covering I/O interconnect technology and holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University.
About NetEffect Solutions
NetEffect's silicon products address one of the most critical problems facing data centers: with data center traffic growing at over 200 percent a year, today's networking technologies simply cannot supply the required bandwidth. NetEffect's silicon products allow Ethernet to easily scale to meet data center demands, using a full implementation of next-generation iWARP RDMA Ethernet. iWARP, which is compatible with today's Ethernet infrastructure, virtually eliminates networking overhead, enabling the delivery of multi-gigabit Ethernet and true convergence of data center traffic for networking, storage, and clustering over a single network technology.
About NetEffect
NetEffect, headquartered in Austin, Texas, is a network solutions company developing products to enable the next generation of high-performance, multi-gigabit Ethernet. NetEffect's products allow Ethernet to easily scale to meet data center demands, using next-generation iWARP RDMA Ethernet that is fully compatible with the Ethernet infrastructure found in today's data centers. NetEffect's investors are TL Ventures, Austin Ventures, JatoTech Ventures, Infinity Capital, Granite Ventures, TI Ventures and Duchossois Technology Partners.
