PALO ALTO, Calif., May 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Gumstix, Inc., today announced the "Dream to Deliverable" modeling environment for electronics product designers. The environment uses popular design tools, 3D images, and software scripts to accelerate and simplify the design and visualization of electronics products and product enclosures. Libraries of electronics parts and gumstix products are available in the Google 3D Warehouse. These can also be used to model custom expansion boards developed in Cadsoft's Eagle(TM) CAD software. Completed models are appropriate for stereolithography prototyping.
Gumstix has published all the data and tools under a Creative Commons license for commercial use as well as further community development.
"Our OEM customers are pushing a new wave of innovative products into the marketplace based on our gumstix technology," said W. Gordon Kruberg, CEO and President of Gumstix, Inc. "This simple set of data and scripts makes the design process much more effective and far less costly than before."
