Pyxis Technology Names Semiconductor Expert As New President and CEO
Pyxis Technology, the DFM (design for manufacturability) routing company, announced today that Phil Bishop, most recently president and CEO of Celoxica Holdings plc. (AIM:CXA), has been named president and CEO of Pyxis Technology. Bishop, a results-proven leader with worldwide experience in the software, high performance computing, semiconductor, and aerospace industries, will lead the company as it grows from technology innovation to revenue generation.
“Over the last year, we focused engineering on delivering world-class routing technology with leading partners,” said Joe Hutt, Pyxis’ interim president and CEO. “Phil has a track record of guiding companies from technology development into the deployment and revenue generation phase. The combination of Pyxis technology with Phil’s skill set and experience will drive Pyxis’ global growth as design for manufacturability issues continue to dominate the semiconductor and electronic design automation markets.”
“The market has begun to realize the value of DFM tools, and Pyxis’ next-generation DFM-aware router, which addresses timing closure and manufacturing and yield problems, has us poised for growth,” said Phil Bishop. “I’d like to thank Joe Hutt for his efforts in helping to focus the company on next-generation routing technology and key customer benchmark performance. I look forward to having Joe’s continued involvement as a strategic advisor to the company.”
Phil Bishop has over 25 years of experience in high technology industries. During his five years as president and CEO of Celoxica, he forged worldwide technology and business partnerships, grew revenue to $10 million, and took the company public. Bishop has acted as a non-executive chairman of the board for Silistix Inc., a provider of integrated circuit (IC) interconnection software, and previous to Celoxica he worked for Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq:MENT) in Wilsonville, Oregon, as vice president and general manager of worldwide consulting. Phil also held engineering and management roles at Motorola Semiconductor/Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. and Boeing.
Phil has a B.Sc. in electrical engineering and a B.Sc. in computer engineering from the University of Michigan and an MBA in global and international business from Duke University.
