Commons Whispers
June 5, 2007
AN attempt to use the internet to boost her deputy leadership bid has backfired on Harriet Harman. She sent an email to thousands of local councillors urging them to back her campaign. Sadly, she forgot to blind copy the message, allowing her rivals access to the prized email list. Supporters of Hazel Blears have now bombarded the councillors with another email.
The Tories are at least getting their internet tactics right.
People Googling “the Labour Party” are now being directed to a sponsored link to David Cameron’s Webcameron propaganda site..
