Eicon's Diva Server Adapters -- Fully Compatible With Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Posted on: Wednesday, 9 July 2003, 06:00 CDT
Eicon Networks Corporation, a world leader in high-quality products for networked business applications, today announces that its family of Diva Server adapters is now certified for Microsoft's latest server operating system Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Server 2003. The software drivers are included on the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 CD. This ensures that the Diva Server adapters are automatically recognised by the system during installation. In parallel with the Microsoft launch of Windows Server 2003, the drivers are also available for free download on www.eicon.com/divaserver.
In achieving Designed for Windows Server 2003 logo certification, Eicon Networks continues its long relationship with Microsoft by enabling their customers to install powerful communication systems based on the new operating system. In addition to this, existing Diva Server customers can easily update their communication servers to Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
Besides new and enhanced feature sets, the ease of migration is critical for customers switching to a new operating system. Eicon's hardware drivers for the Diva Server family ensure this trouble-free update.
"Microsoft Server 2003 is a highly productive operating system for businesses of all sizes," states Bob O'Brien, Group Product Manager, Windows Server Division, Microsoft Corp. "Eicon obtained the Designed for Windows Server 2003 logo for its Diva Server family which demonstrates that these products have passed testing by the Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Lab. Customers can be assured that the Diva Server products deliver a high-quality, stable and easy installation with the Windows Server 2003 operating system."
Eicon Network's Diva Server adapters include ISDN Basic Rate adapters, the Diva Server BRI and the Diva Server 4BRI, as well as the Diva Server PRI family a range of E1 and T1 adapters. These flexible cards are designed with an on-board processor and memory plus dedicated Digital Signal Processors (DSPs). These DSPs carry out time-critical tasks, like fax modulation or voice coding, and thus remove workload from the host processor. All Diva Server adapters have been tested and certified in the Microsoft test labs since the middle of the '90s. They are a perfect platform for communication applications, such as Fax Server, Unified Messaging Systems or Voice and Conferencing Systems, in a Windows environment, now including Microsoft Windows Server 2003.
The Diva Server drivers were tested successfully with all beta versions of Windows Server 2003 and are now included in all release CDs delivered worldwide with the Microsoft operating system.
Eicon Networks encourages all ISVs, SIs and other users of the Diva Server to procure all necessary intellectual property licenses required to implement their concepts or applications, which licenses may vary from country to country.
Availability Server for Windows 2000/XP/2003 v. 6.2 is available for free download on the Eicon Web page at www.eicon.com/divaserver.
