Gotuit has been selected as winner in the category of Digital Media for the 2007 MITX Technology Awards. The MITX Technology Awards, presented by the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange, recognize innovative technologies developed in the New England area, as well as the individuals and organizations responsible for driving these advancements. Honorees for this year's awards were announced last night in a ceremony at The Four Season's Hotel in Boston.
"We have been extremely impressed with the breadth and quality of the nominations this year. They show incredible innovation across a variety of sectors and highlight the vitality of our local technology community," said Kiki Mills, executive director of MITX. "As we continue to enjoy a surge in technology investments in New England, we are proud to showcase the contributions our community is making to global technology development."
Currently being used by customers such as the National Hockey League and Sports Illustrated, the Gotuit PowerVideo Suite™ incorporates patented metadata-driven technology for unleashing video libraries across broadband and mobile platforms. The Gotuit PowerVideo Suite includes a compelling set of technology solutions publishers can use to optimize both their video experience and their ability to monetize their libraries, using keyword targeted video ads. A new feature to the Suite is Gotuit VideoMixer™, which enables publishers to deepen their relationship with their viewers by giving them the ability to produce video remixes, without ever altering the source video files. Gotuit VideoMixer can be seen on the Fergie Remixed website.
"The online video market, while growing fast, is still young in terms of effective technology that drives consumer behavior and generates revenue for publishers," said Mark Pascarella, president and CEO of Gotuit. "The Gotuit PowerVideo Suite is the result of our efforts to make those goals reality. Our entire team has worked tirelessly on this vision and we're very pleased and proud to be recognized by MITX and the Massachusetts technology community for our efforts."
More than 200 of the region's top technology and business professionals attended the MITX Awards ceremony. The event also included a keynote address by Tim Berners-Lee, director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), who was inducted into the MITX Innovation Hall of Fame last night, as well as a panel forum on "What's Next for the Device Web -- Emerging User Experiences."
