Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD) and Ericom Software, a leading provider of enterprise-wide application access solutions, today made it easier for resellers to deploy more efficient and cost-effective server-based computing solutions. Tech Data will distribute Ericom's PowerTerm® WebConnect software solutions, which enable businesses to more efficiently deploy and manage server-based software applications and ensure employees have secure, local and remote access to critical software tools.
"While reliable remote access to software applications provides clear productivity gains for any business with traveling, home- or field-based employees, Ericom solutions also can be used to cut costs and streamline a business' entire software management strategy," said Stacy Nethercoat, Tech Data's vice president, Software Product Marketing. "As a server-based solution, PowerTerm WebConnect reduces the need for time-consuming and costly software installations, patches, security updates, license tracking and technical support for individual client systems. With Ericom, businesses and organizations can deploy a centralized solution and more efficiently manage all their software applications from the data center."
Ericom's PowerTerm WebConnect product line delivers a comprehensive range of application-access solutions for Windows and Linux desktops, notebooks and other client computing systems. These solutions support organizations ranging from small-to-midsize businesses (SMBs) with tens of desktops to large enterprises supporting thousands of desktops. Tech Data will distribute the entire PowerTerm WebConnect line and support resellers through dedicated product management and technical resources. The distributor and Ericom will collaborate to develop channel programs and provide authorization assistance and engagement opportunities to recruit new resellers.
"Ericom is dedicated to strengthening our channels. Partnering with Tech Data offers us the opportunity to significantly expand our reseller base through a premier distributor," said Brian Berns, Ericom's chief operating officer. "The demand potential for enterprise-wide application access solutions across multiple vertical markets is strong and continues to grow. Our PowerTerm WebConnect flagship product line provides resellers with a compelling, versatile and competitively priced solution they can leverage to satisfy that demand with opportunities for increased software, professional services and hardware revenue."
