Jun. 11–The whole world will be able to see the seniors of Richlands High School earn their diplomas tonight.

For the first time, the school will broadcast live streaming video of the graduation online. The EZStream Ihigh broadcasting network will broadcast the video free of charge from the school so that people who can’t get there can still be part of the festivities.

“I think it’s going to be great for the families and even parents that can’t be in attendance for whatever reason,” Richlands High athletic director Steve Clarke said.

Clarke said for the last few years, the school has broadcast its Wildcat football games over the Internet and wanted to see if it could do the same for graduation.

Principal Tim Spencer said he didn’t want to just put on a sub-par broadcast of the seniors’ big day.

“We wanted to have a quality (Web) cast, and I believe we can do that,” he said.

If you miss the ceremony live, which begins at 6 p.m., not to worry. The graduation will be archived for on-demand viewing afterwards.
