IBM Rational Software Development Conference -- Klocwork, Inc., the proven leader in delivering automated software solutions that improve software security and quality, today announced that the Klocwork K7 Enterprise Development Suite has been validated for integration with IBM Rational ClearCase through the Ready for IBM Rational software validation program. Rational ClearCase is IBM's Software Configuration Management (SCM) system that provides lifecycle management and control of software development assets. This announcement verifies that Klocwork has demonstrated through an extensive and rigorous validation process that its source code analysis products integrate with the IBM Rational Software Development Platform (SDP).
In order to meet the requirements for IBM Rational ClearCase validation, Klocwork exhibited proficiency in a number of key areas: the demonstration of both dynamic and snapshot views of IBM Rational ClearCase files; support for obtaining the appropriate source files through controlled access to IBM Rational ClearCase; and the ability to demonstrate publishing as an asset from an IBM Rational ClearCase view. Meeting these and other general integration requirements ensures that the Klocwork source code analysis solution provides value to the customer and that the product will co-exist with the Rational product being extended.
"As businesses transform, it is critical for quality to be integrated throughout the software development lifecycle. When IBM Business Partners such as Klocwork validate their offerings on the Rational Software Delivery Platform, our customers are assured their software is part of an integrated part of the full end to end business process of software development," said Michael Loria, vice president business development, IBM Rational software.
"Meeting the validation requirements for IBM Rational ClearCase is another important step in our ongoing and strengthening relationship with IBM," said Ian Gordon, VP of Product Management for Klocwork. "While the validation process was long and extensive, it provides potential customers with peace of mind in selecting Klocwork as their partner for source code analysis needs. This validation proves that Klocwork's industry leading solutions provide seamless integration with IBM Rational software development products."
The key component to Klocwork's award-winning static analysis suite, Klocwork K7.7, is the ability for cross-functional development teams to quickly identify software defects and vulnerabilities. With K7.7, developers are able to detect potentially harmful and costly security and quality issues with greater thoroughness and accuracy. The K7.7 solution is continuously updated as part of a vigorous quality assurance program against all known vulnerabilities and easily integrates with complex build systems that automatically recognize any changes to a customer's build, ensuring the Klocwork integration is maintained.
