PALO ALTO, Calif., June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Itiva Networks, the on-line Video Content Delivery Solution for high quality digital assets, today announced that its QMesh software supports Apple MAC OS X for full platform compatibility.
"The Mac community is well represented in several of our key markets, including media and entertainment, sports, gaming, and advertising delivery, and we're pleased to offer our rich media delivery network to them," said Michel Billard, CEO of Itiva. "This opens the door to many new advanced users who prefer the Mac. Now Mac OS X customers can access a powerful high definition video streaming solution that would otherwise not be available to them."
Recording artists and creative professionals have been among the first to leverage Itiva's secure and scalable Content Delivery Network (CDN) solution that enables delivery of DVD or HD quality content to mass audiences in a cost-effective manner.
International recording artist David Usher, for example, is currently enabling online viewers to see his latest music video in full screen, high definition on his website (http://www.davidusher.com/) and also on his MySpace.com page (http://www.myspace.com/davidushermusic). Usher is additionally compiling his music video content to host his entire catalogue on both sites.
"The David Usher MySpace page has been a great venue to expand our fanbase and the Itiva Solution has always been available for Windows users -- now Mac users can enjoy the same experience," said Graeme McDonald, David Usher's manager. "High definition video streaming will further expand our ability to connect with fans while showcasing David's enormous talents to a wider audience."
Mac-friendly streams have become a significant portion of consumer video content report content producers such as CBS and Major League Baseball, according to Itiva's Billard.
"These organizations informed us that as much as 25% of their online audience was Mac-based," Billard explained. "We listened to what our customers and prospects said they wanted so that they could extend their reach to every online consumer regardless of device or platform, anytime, anywhere."
