Posted on: Monday, 25 October 2004, 06:00 CDT

More than 20 "SmartPartners" Ready to Deliver Isilon's Award-Winning Clustered Storage Solutions to Enterprise Customers

Isilon Systems(R), the premier provider of intelligent clustered storage for digital content, announced today at Storage Networking World the launch of its worldwide SmartPartner(TM) channel program, featuring more than twenty value added resellers and distributors throughout North America and Asia. Partners enrolled in the program include The Pinnacle Group, Tokyo Electron (TEL), Nth Generation, Seoul Electron, Ordigraphe, Bright Systems and many others. With the launch of the SmartPartner program, Isilon further extends its North American and international reach, and announces immediate availability of Isilon's clustered storage products in Japan, Korea, Canada, and the U.S. In conjunction with today's announcement of OneFS 3.0, the next generation of Isilon's award-winning distributed file system, the launch of the SmartPartner program will help companies worldwide create business value by making storage for digital content easy, reliable, and scalable.

Isilon's SmartPartner program combines the strengths of Isilon's award winning products and support and sales organizations with the proven track records of leading value added resellers, distributors, and solutions integrators. To enable SmartPartners to be highly successful, Isilon has established a dedicated channel sales support organization that includes account managers, technical support liaisons, a training department, and a detailed partner extranet with access to all vital sales tools. Isilon has also established an online deal registration process that protects SmartPartners' investments in new opportunities they register by granting additional financial incentives and guaranteeing exclusive sell-through rights for a period of 90 days.

"Customers everywhere are faced with unprecedented amounts of digital content and reference information being created in their organizations and desperately need a solution," said Randy Kerns, senior partner for the Evaluator Group. "The simplicity of Isilon's clustered storage solutions provide high-value to customers and represent opportunities for partners with Isilon's channel-friendly SmartPartner Program."

"Working with Isilon, we are able to delivery truly exceptional products to our most sophisticated marquee customers," said Antony Harris, President and CEO of Bright Systems. "Isilon IQ has proven to be the most effective clustered storage system available for digital content, and we are thrilled to have delivered multiple orders to our leading customers such as FotoKem. We're confident that OneFS 3.0 will offer even greater business value to our customers."

"We are honored to distribute a product of Isilon IQ's caliber in Japan," said Vic Amano, vice president and general manager of TEL's Computer Network Division. "Given our expertise in storage and networking, we are excited to build a long lasting and successful relationship and deliver Isilon's solutions to our customers."

The new world-wide channel sales organization is led by Tom Pettigrew, Isilon vice president of global sales partners, who has more than 20 years of experience building successful OEM partnerships, channel sales and partner development programs. Pettigrew joined Isilon from F5 Networks, where he spent more than six years forging global relationships with such companies as Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, NTT, EDS and Nokia. In 2003, Computer Reseller News named Pettigrew a top U.S. channel executive.

"Today, storage resellers and integrators are looking for cutting-edge new products that give them both a competitive advantage and an opportunity to make a healthy profit in an increasingly commoditized space," said Pettigrew. "Our Isilon IQ clustered storage systems, OneFS(TM) distributed file system and SyncIQ replication software put our partners in the pole position to capitalize on the huge new category of storage for digital content. The SmartPartner program is a big win for partners, customers, and is a core milestone on our path to becoming a top storage systems and software player."

Isilon IQ is a high performance clustered storage system that combines an intelligent distributed file system with modular industry standard hardware to deliver unmatched simplicity and scalability. Isilon's OneFS distributed file system eliminates islands of storage by creating a single global namespace, enabling customers to grow both storage capacity and performance linearly. The system was designed specifically for high-growth, high-throughput applications, such as those in media and entertainment, digital imaging, life sciences, and oil and gas discovery.
