Audible Advances Co-Marketing Program With New AudibleReady Smart Devices From Sprint

WAYNE, N.J., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Audible, Inc. , the leading provider of digitally delivered spoken word audio, today announced an extension of its technology and co-marketing program with Sprint . Under the agreement, two new Sprint PCS Vision Smart Devices will be AudibleReady(R). Integration of the http://www.audible.com(r/) Internet audio service allows users of Sprint's newest Windows Mobile(TM)-- based Pocket PC device, the Sprint PCS Vision Smart Device PPC-6601, to listen to audiobooks, audio editions of newspapers and magazines, business news and analysis, language instruction, educational programming, and radio programs at audible.com. The companies also announced that in November the Sprint PCS Vision Smart Device Treo 650 by palmOne will be added to the growing selection of AudibleReady Sprint Smart Devices which are capable of playing Audible's 55,000 hours of audio entertainment and information.
Each new Sprint Smart Device will include the AudiblePlayer(R) application and introductory audio content loaded into the device ROM or provided via Web links on the in-box CD. The Sprint PCS Vision Smart Device PPC-6601 will be available early next month through Sprint business channels and ships with Audible's branding on the box and service offers. Sprint customers will be offered $50 cash back when joining an AudibleListener(R) annual plan or receive a complimentary free month of membership when joining on a month-to-month basis.
