NEC Display Solutions Adopts Silicon Optix HQV Processing

Posted on: Tuesday, 19 June 2007, 12:00 CDT

Silicon Optix, the leader in high-performance programmable video processors, announced today that its HQV® Reon VX video-processor chip will be incorporated by NEC Display Solutions into its next generation of integration projectors, which will raise the bar for features and performance for the industry. This next generation of projectors featuring HQV processing will be shown at InfoComm at NEC's Booth 4609. The series will consist of four models and will start shipping late in 2007.

"NEC selected Silicon Optix because of their reference-standard HQV video processing and their continual focus on innovation and image quality," said Keith Yanke, Senior Product Line Manager, NEC. "By adding HQV processing, we'll offer stunning visual performance across our integration-projector products."

"NEC projectors incorporating Silicon Optix's HQV technology will maximize the effectiveness of their presentations and other messaging," Yanke continued. "These new NEC integration projectors will remove concerns organizations have about projector image quality, allowing them to focus on creating effective communication."

HQV's deinterlacing delivers the sharpest, most detailed images possible by employing per-pixel motion-adaptive algorithms and a sophisticated, multidirectional diagonal filter that ensures video free from jagged edges. The powerful HQV processing engine also provides per-pixel motion-adaptive noise reduction, detail enhancement, and advanced scaling to deliver premium-quality upconversion.

"NEC is a leader in the projection field, and we are excited to collaborate with them in creating the highest-quality images imaginable across their product line," said Jim Mannos, President, Silicon Optix.
