Jun. 19–Internet Broadcasting Systems, the nation’s largest producer of Web sites for local TV news stations, today named an Internet veteran from AOL as its new president and chief executive officer.

David Lebow will lead the Mendota Heights-based company. He is currently the executive vice president and general manager of AOL Media Networks. He joined AOL in 2002 and helped transition the company into a consumer web portal.

The company said that Reid Johnson, who formed Internet Broadcasting in 1996 and had been president and CEO, will stay on with the company as founder.

Lebow oversaw AOL’s Local Search, Cityguide, Mapquest and eCommerce operations.

“Given his success and experience with both Internet and broadcasting, he is ideally suited to drive our growth,” said Steven Goldstein, chairman of the company’s board of directors.

Privately held Internet Broadcasting has about 250 employees at its Mendota Heights location, and will move to new St. Paul offices later this summer.
