WOBURN, Mass., June 19 /PRNewswire/ — Presidio Networked Solutions, the nation’s largest independent provider of Advanced IT Infrastructure Solutions, today announced that it has been awarded a contract to provide Cisco Systems’ converged enterprise communication and network systems, services, and equipment to The Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This government contract for telephony systems and related infrastructure allows the state, as well as Massachusetts cities and towns, to procure Cisco products and integration services from Presidio without going through time-consuming and costly RFP processes.

The three-year contract goes into effect immediately and provides two one- year extensions, for a total of five years, at the discretion of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and based on mutual acceptance.

“Our organization continues to be laser focused on the advancements in unified communications and convergence,” said Robert Murphy, Northeast Divisional Co-President for Presidio Networked Solutions. Mr. Murphy added, “We have spent years growing our highly-trained organization of technical consultants and project managers to keep pace with the evolving convergence market. We are pleased to have the opportunity to provide our services to The Commonwealth of Massachusetts.”

Earlier this month, Presidio Networked Solutions achieved the Master Unified Communications Specialization from Cisco Systems. The specialization recognizes an elite group of channel partners who have the most in-depth technology skills and proven track record of customer success in selling, deploying, and supporting sophisticated Cisco Unified Communications solutions. Presidio is the first Cisco partner on the east coast, and the fifth overall, to attain the specialization.

To achieve the Master Unified Communications Specialization, channel partners must first attain the Advanced Unified Communications Specialization. They must then meet a series of stringent requirements in three categories: technology capabilities, sales expertise, and lifecycle services offerings. Partners must also have earned a range of Cisco and industry-standard technical certifications, including Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in voice technology.
