New Creation Church to Move

June 27, 2007

By Kirsten Valle, The Charlotte Observer, N.C.

Jun. 27–All the construction along Shopton Road in Steele Creek is pushing out at least one occupant: New Creation Christian Church.

The church sold its two-acre site on Shopton near Sandy Porter Road last fall. It plans to move to a new spot in a safer, residential area in coming months.

Pastor Karen Woods said the site is better suited for industrial development than a church, given the narrow road, business parks and new construction.

The church will probably find a temporary site and then buy land and build a new church in two to three years. For details on New Creation, call 704-504-2890 or visit www.karenwoodsministries.org.

Read tomorrow’s Neighbors of Southern Mecklenburg for more details on this developing story.
