Jun. 30–Police arrested a 15-year-old boy Friday who they said tried to steal an iPod Shuffle from Best Buy in Myrtle Beach.

A store employee said he saw the teenager remove the silver iPod Shuffle, a digital music player, from its case and slip it into his pocket. The act was also allegedly caught on video surveillance.

Store employees stopped the boy when he tried to walk out.

The Department of Juvenile Justice was notified.

The teenager, who is from Socastee, was released into his father’s custody.

The iPod Shuffle sells for $79.99. It measures 1.1 inch by 1.6 inches, .4 inches thin and weighs .6 ounces, according to information from the Best Buy Web site.
