Drivers Found: CarDomain.Com Attains Major Milestone of 500,000 Custom Ride Pages Built

Posted on: Monday, 2 July 2007, 12:17 CDT

CarDomain.com, the Internet's largest community for auto enthusiasts, today announced that CarDomain members have built more than 500,000 ride pages, enhancing its position as the largest automotive enthusiast site on the Internet. A ride page is a personal page that CarDomain members create on the site where they can include pictures and videos of their ride, product reviews, and a guestbook to chronicle their projects. In addition, the company announced that it has secured a private round of funding in the amount of $3 million from Alex Algard, the founder of CarDomain.com. The investment will be used to continue to build out CarDomain's advertising platform which has been successfully helping major brands such as Scion, Mennen SpeedStick, and Pioneer more authentically reach the elusive 18-34 year-old male demographic -- one which traditional media outlets have been having a harder time reaching.

"Today's announcement represents a major milestone for CarDomain.com, one that demonstrates the enormous opportunity our community represents for forward thinking brands to engage with a notoriously hard-to-reach demographic," said Rajan Krishnamurty, President and Chief Operating Officer for CarDomain.com.

With more than 3.8 million unique users per month, CarDomain.com is the largest community oriented automotive website on the Internet. CarDomain consistently ranks among Nielsen//NetRatings' top 20 automotive websites in general, placing its traffic among sites such as Toyota, Edmunds, MSN Autos, and Chevrolet. But the size of CarDomain's audience is not the only appeal to advertisers. Rather, the passion and sense of community that CarDomain.com embodies represents the convergence of the three "C's" -- community, content, and commerce -- which together create an authentic experience for members and advertisers alike.

"I started CarDomain.com back in 1998 because there was no place online where fellow auto enthusiasts could come together, show off their rides, and get inspiration for their latest projects," said Alex Algard, founder and Chief Car Enthusiast and founder and CEO of WhitePages.com. "With more than 500,000 custom ride pages, CarDomain.com now commands an audience that exceeds that of many cable television stations and prominent media properties while giving our members a home on the Net that they can call their own."
