Total Tech Announces Revolutionary Anti-Spam Solution Now Available for San Diego County Businesses

Total Tech, San Diego's leading network security solutions provider, today announced that it is now offering Sendio, Inc.'s (www.sendio.com) revolutionary anti-spam solution to small and medium sized businesses under its innovative suite of hosted network security solutions. Named 2006 "best of the best" product of the year by Government Computer News, Sendio's revolutionary anti-spam/anti-virus technology blocks 100 percent of spam and unwanted email while ensuring that no legitimate messages are lost in the process.
Ken Hamilton, president of Total Tech, recognized that most corporate anti-spam products rely on "filtering" to separate legitimate messages from spam and other unwanted messages, many of which can contain phishing schemes and malicious code that are threats to employees and companies overall. "Unfortunately, filtering means reading the email message content and essentially guessing which ones are valid," said Hamilton. "But every filter incorrectly allows a large number of unwanted emails through while mistakenly characterizing some legitimate messages as 'false positives,' dumping them into swelling junk mail folders. In contrast, instead of simply focusing on the content of a message, Sendio implements the concept of sender authentication. True spammers and everyone else who will not identify themselves are completely blocked, while known business contacts always get through. For all other email, users can easily decide on an individual basis which messages are actually useful and which are from senders who are to be banished forever."
Sendio's Sender Address Verification (SAV) technology operates at the basic SMTP protocol level, the world-wide standard for email over the Internet, making it compatible with all email systems. When a Sendio user receives a message from an unknown sender for the first time, that sender will be "challenged," via a return email, requesting a confirmation that they are a real person and not an automated spam computer process. The sender responds by simply replying to the challenge message with two mouse clicks. Once that is done, the original message is forwarded directly to the Sendio user's Inbox, and, from then on, all subsequent messages from that sender will be delivered immediately. Since the business model of true spammers requires them to remain anonymous, they will not respond to the "challenges" (or else put their illegal businesses at risk), so none of their messages ever get through. Beyond actual spam, Sendio users can easily manage other unsolicited emails as well as control the receipt of automated messages (such as online newsletters and e-commerce receipts) with a Web-based interface into their own personal "email accept list."
Sendio recently began shipping the June 07 service update to their software, adding full inbound and outbound integrity checking which enables users to protect not only their messaging environment but also minimize the potential of inadvertently sending something destructive to a partner or customer. Specific enhancements include complete email attachment handling and upgraded anti-virus and "malware" protection.
"Sendio provides email integrity by restoring user confidence that their email system will deliver everything important while blocking out the dangerous or simply time-wasting junk," said Kelly Anderson, CEO of Sendio. "Our products are a vital part of securing the larger communications environment that partners such as Total Tech engineer and maintain on behalf of their diverse customer base. We are proud to have been added to an already impressive family of security solutions."
