An internet radio station Iran Seda (Iran Sound) is scheduled to go on air by the end of summer.
In an interview with Fars news agency, director of the radio channel, Hamid-Reza Sahragard, said the station, available to users via the internet, is a new medium targeted at Persian speakers around the world.
“This radio channel has not been officially inaugurated yet and will launch by the end of summer,” he said.
Addressing an international Persian-speaking audience, he stressed the radio station would prioritize conveying the messages of the Islamic revolution and of the Islamic Republic.
It would also broadcast world news as well as a whole host of political, social, economic and cultural subjects, he said.
Sahragard said the programmes on the station’s website would be available both as audio and text files.
The users can listen to the news live. Other featured programmes can be downloaded as sound packages.
Excerpts of older news stories already broadcast by the station are uploaded on the site in text format so users can browse and read them.
