SBS Corporation Selects TANDBERG Television to Enable Internet TV
TANDBERG Television, part of the Ericsson Group, today announced that the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Corporation, Australia’s multicultural and multilingual public broadcaster, has selected TANDBERG Television’s comprehensive solution for Internet TV asset ingest, transcoding, management and distribution. As part of the integration, SBS will access TANDBERG’s Alloy™ and MediaModeler™ technologies through a managed services model to publish SBS content and user generated video via the Internet. Initially the broadband video will be available on sbs.com and eventually across multiple platforms and syndication partners.
By combining its knowledge and products in the traditional TV 1.0 world and the TV 2.0 world of broadband video, TANDBERG Television provides SBS with a unique solution that automates and manages content across the value chain. Leveraging years of experience in high quality video compression, on-demand, interactive and mobile technology, TANDBERG Television offers real world business solutions that automates and manages the process of publishing, monetizing and distributing assets on various platforms and devices.

Through this agreement, TANDBERG Television provides SBS with the necessary tools to manage all its metadata, automate the distribution of content, create user interfaces and publish events while syndicating its assets across SBS internal and third party Web sites. SBS will leverage the flexibility of Alloy and MediaModeler to publish and syndicate content while maintaining a strong level of control of its media assets, including SBS produced content as well as user generated video. TANDBERG Television’s TV 2.0 solutions will facilitate both viral and traditional content distribution.
