Revision3, the leading Internet television network, today announced that Jim Louderback has been named chief executive officer effective today. Jay Adelson, Revision3′s founder and CEO since 2006, will serve as advisor and remain involved with the company as chairman of the board of directors.

Louderback, 45, is a 20-year veteran of the computer and media industries and is one of the pioneers of niche television. In 1997, Louderback launched ZDTV’s content for its cable network and Web site and managed a $15 million organization which included strategic content direction for the network’s shows, managing news staff, product reviews and booking across the network, including Web and radio. Content focused on a mix of help, product information, news and entertainment. He also appeared in numerous segments for the network and hosted the popular “Fresh Gear” show for three years. In addition, he helped manage the network’s transition to TechTV, and then developed and managed an eight hour daily news program called “TechLive” which delivered market news, product information, technology reporting and CEO interviews daily. Louderback set editorial direction and managed TechTV’s content on an ongoing basis until the spring of 2002.

“Jim was one of the first people to create and manage Internet television content and podcasts and is highly respected throughout the industry,” Adelson said. “Jim is tuned into what our audience wants. His experience in running a network, his understanding of both the Internet and television arenas, as well as his extensive development experience both behind and in front of the camera, makes him the ideal person to take Revision3 to the next level.”

After leaving his role as vice president and editorial director of TechTV in 2002, Louderback became the vice president and editor in chief of Ziff Davis Media’s Internet division where he developed PCMag.com, Extremetech.com and eWeek.com into three of the Internet’s largest Web sites. He also launched the innovative and popular Internet TV shows “DL.TV” and “Cranky Geeks”. In 2005, he added responsibility for editing PC Magazine.

Louderback has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Vermont, and an M.B.A from the Stern School. He has been regularly voted onto the top 20 of Adweek Technology Marketing’s annual list of most influential technology journalists.
