The GEOS-5 model shows a visualization of the massive “Snowmaggedon” blizzards in February 2010. Notice the distinctive comma-shaped cloud pattern that’s visible throughout the visualization, a common feature of blizzards. Credit: NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
