For around 40 dollars, you can now purchase an HIV test over the counter at your local CVS, Walgreens, or other drug store. Some say it’s a huge leap and will help many learn their HIV status in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. But others say it’s too expensive for those who need it most, and is unlikely to be a “game-changer” in the war on AIDS.
