Expedition 18 Hands over Command to Expedition 19
The reins of the International Space Station were passed from Expedition 18 Commander Mike Fincke and Flight Engineer Yury Lonchakov to Expedition 19 Commander Gennady Padalka and Flight Engineer Mike Barratt April 2, 2009 in a ceremony aboard the complex. Looking on were Expedition 18 Flight Engineer Koichi Wakata who will remain on the station until June as part of the new Expedition 19 crew and American Spaceflight Participant Charles Simonyi, who will return to Earth April 7 with Fincke and Lonchakov. credit: NASARelated Videos
